About the author: Wai San Yip has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering specialized in applying mathematical programming to improve operating profit of chemical plants. He is a professional engineer and a certified management accountant. Since his graduation of his Ph.D. degree, he has been working in oil industry for 15 years applying mathematical principles and engineering knowledge to solve industrial problems. He has a strong belief that building a solid understanding of math and science knowledge will prepare students to be successful when working in industries, and a strong foundation in elementary school math and science is the key to success in future studies. Currently, he spends his after work hours on building math and science apps and testing these apps on his children.
